Translink has posted a notice that trains will not be running from the 21st to the 26th of April between Michelton and Ferny Grove. This period covers the entire Easter Long weekend as well as Easter Thursday beforehand. Buses will be working the route but the notice advises that commuters should expect up to half hour delays.
Queensland Rail will be using the closure to perform track maintenance and rail upgrades along the route.

Arbor Street Rail Crossing to be Closed this weekend
Translink mentions on their website that the Arbor Street rail crossing will be closed the entire upcoming weekend, from Friday March 18th at 8pm to 5am on Monday 21st. The road will likely be closed for work required to divert the rail tracks to the temporary platform that is emerging at the Ferny Grove railway station. The closure will affect bus routes 397 and 398.
Electricity Substation Upgrades to improve Local Supply
Separate to a previous story about a new substation on Samford Road, Energex is upgrading an existing substation on Callan Street, Keperra, reports iStockAnalyst. The upgrade will improve the supply and reliability of electrical supply to surrounding suburbs, including Ferny Grove, Ferny Hills and Arana Hills. The work will be completed in 2012.

Ferny Grove Tavern Disappears
Over the course of a few days last week the Ferny Grove Tavern was demolished. Without the structures present it is possible to appreciate how much land it was sitting on. The land has already been opened up to temporary car parking for the train station, easing the strain placed on commuter parking by the Ferny Grove Rail Upgrade construction office and temporary platform sites.
